China Charity Federation (CCF) is a non-profitable and non-governmental social organization at national level. Founded in 1994, CCF is legally registered as an independent entity with approval from the Chinese government. At present, it has 464 members nationwide, all of whom work on a voluntary basis, include citizens, legal persons and social organizations being interested in charity cause. The tenet of CCF is to uphold the spirit of humanitarianism and the Chinese tradition to help people in poverty as well as people in difficulties and carry out social assistance in various forms. The first president is Mr. Cui Naifu. The second president is Mr. Yan Mingfu. The third president is Mr. Fan Baojun, who has been member of the 9th and 10th Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and former deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group and vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. The fourth president is Mr. Li Bengong, who has been deputy to the 11th National People’s Congress, member of the Financial and Economic Committee and former executive deputy director of the National Office for the Elderly. The current president is Mr. Gong Puguang, who is Vice Chairman of the Social Construction Committee of the National People’s Congress and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

     Since its establishment, CCF has always adhered to its tenet, actively advocating awareness of charity, making great efforts to open up service fields of charity, mobilizing social forces extensively and raising charity funds in various ways to do a lot of work in emergency rescue, poverty alleviation, elderly and orphan assistance, medical assistance and education assistance in cooperation with relevant government departments, achieving remarkable results. In recent years, CCF has paid special attention to its own characteristics with a wide range of coverage, carrying out dozens of charity projects in eight aspects, including disaster relief, poverty alleviation, elderly care, orphan assistance, education assistance, assistance to the disabled and medical assistance, gradually forming a large-scale charity aid system throughout China. Up to now, CCF has directly raised more than 120 billion yuan in monetary and in-kind, helping tens of millions of people in need in different forms.

     CCF adopts a strict financial and auditing system, and employs a famous accounting firm for the annual financial audit. All the major fund-raising activities accept auditing from the National Audit Office and social supervision at any time. CCF has always adhered to a financial belief that is open, fair, in line with law and self-disciplined, improving its social credibility steadily.

     CCF has continuously strengthened its external communication, establishing good cooperative relations with many non-governmental and non-profitable organizations in Hong Kong, China, Macau, China, Chinese Taiwan and oversea China and jointly implementing a number of charity projects, which has been generally praised by international non-governmental and non-profitable organizations.

     As one of the biggest and most influential charity organizations in China, CCF has become an important hub linking Chinese people at home and abroad and international friends to jointly make contributions to the steady development of charity cause in China.
